Day at the Capitol

The chamber's annual Day at the Capitol is an amazing opportunity to see our state legislative process in action. Join Town of Parker staff, elected officials, business owners, corporate partners, and other engaged chamber and community members for a day of learning, networking, and advocating for the issues that matter most to our business community.
Transportation is provided from downtown Parker. You'll arrive at the Capitol, enjoy a tour, watch the House and Senate in session, and interact with lawmakers. (If you haven't been to the Capitol – or haven't been since you were in school – you'll love seeing it through adult eyes.)
We gather for a networking and learning lunch a few blocks away in a nearby hotel. There, we hear from our elected representatives. The chamber staff also arranges for a couple of guest speakers who will shed light on the biggest issues dominating the legislative session. It's an invaluable opportunity to understand the nuances of the political process and the future of legislation that impacts our businesses and those around the state. Topics have included issues surrounding housing, regulation, environment, workforce, education, civil liberties, growth and density, and more.
Think of DATC as a field trip where you'll learn, build new relationships, and better understand how engaged chamber members can influence Colorado's business environment. Attendees have even remarked that they want to run for office after the experience!
Your ticket includes transportation to the Capitol from Parker and your lunch. Or, you can elect to drive yourself and meet the group in Denver. The day typically runs from 8:30am - 3:30pm. Thank you to our presenting sponsor CORE Electric Cooperative and the Town of Parker's Office of Economic Development for their support of this event.
